The aim of the IR(A) modular flying training course is to train pilots to the level of proficiency necessary to operate aeroplanes under IFR and in IMC. 


All including: Instrument rating course (IR) in ATO „Aviacom Flight Academy“ is conducted comprising theoretical training followed by practical training and consists of:

* Ground school

* Full Flight Simulator training

* Flights with an aircraft

Instrument rating (IR) course structure

Entry Requirements 

To be at least 18 years old r

To be a holder of an unrestricted Private Pilot License (PPL)

To have a valid class 1 or 2 medical certificate

Not less than 50 hours routs flying experience as a captain with aircrafts or helicopters, including not less than 10 hours flights with an aircraft.

English knowledge – the 4th level according to ICAO requirements and the permission to transact a radio communication in English.


Theory – via Internet 

Theoretical training includes 150 hours of which 20 hours are with an instructor in the classroom. You can learn remotely, when educational materials are received and the access to online tests is given, you can prepare for the exam on your own. This will allow you to learn in convenient time from home or from any other place in the world, it will help to save costs of transport and accommodation.


Flight training 

AFA with their partners ATO in Lithuania organizes practical preparations in simulator FNPT II C172 (35 hrs.) and with the airplane „Cessna“ 172H (15 hrs.). Flights are performed in both Paluknys airfield and Vilnius International Airport.


Duration & exams

Flight using devices training should not last longer than 18 months with intensive studies, the average duration is a few months.

Exam will be organized at Vilnius Airport, on the dates specified using the school’s facilities and supervised by an inspector authorized by the Civil Aviation Authority.
